 Prompt Response: Today in class I presented my final project on ¨The Color Purple¨ by Alice Walker

 Prompt Response: What I enjoyed most about the class is the work we did how it was all orginized and detailed and helped me understand multicultural more then what I had already know. I connected more with the poetry we read in class because it showed me more about different culture in each poem we read and I understood how other people live. One area I need more improvement in is disscusion questions.

Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters December 16

 Prompt Response: One tradition that is important to me during the holiday season is how we make tamales on holidays this tradition is important to me because its what makes it feel like the holidays because we dont have homemade tamles through out the year.

 Prompt Response: The holidays have changed as I grew older because now I feel how expensive it is when the holiday season comes. When I was a kid the holidays felt more real now that im older the holidays feel like they go by not feeling as real.

Reflect on the theme of reconciliation. Have you ever restored a relationship, forgiven someone, or been forgiven in a way that changed you? How does the novel’s ending shape your understanding of forgiveness across different cultures or families? December 10/11

 Prompt Response: In my opinion reconcilliation is the process of being able to put everything behind you had move on from what affected you. No I havent restored a relationship with anyone who affected me. Different cultures and families have different ways of forgeving each other or being forgiven some families and cultural are less likely to do this while other it may be more common or easy to forgive or be forgiven.e

Write about a song that brings back a specific memory. December 9

 Prompt Response: A song that brings back specific memories is a spanish song called ¨ Tu Ultima Cancion¨ by Los Temerarios. The reason this song brings back memories is because when I was little my mom would always put that song on when she would clean on saturdays.

 Prompt Response: The best gift I had ever been given is some black cats. 

Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview? December 5

 Prompt Response: A moment in my life where I believed something that didn´t end up being like i had imagined is when I thought not warming up before doing sports is important but then I eneded up getting injured because I didnt warm up.

 Prompt Response: Finding Nettie´s letters which minister had on purpose hidden  broke celies heart and filled her with rage. this revealed the minister as a cruel who stole years or joy and hope from her which showed his cruelness went farther then abuse. These letters proved celie that her sister cared and loved her and didn´t forget about her like she thought. This finally gave her to strength to to see pass the lies and being strong enough to fight for her freedom 

Write about a relationship in your life that changed over time as you grew older or more aware. What made the dynamic shift, and how did your understanding of that person evolve December 2

 Prompt Response: A relationship that changed overtime as I grew up older was my relationship with my friend. Our friendship started to seperate because we both moved and had different interest. As I got older I understood everyone has there own way of being.

 Prompt Response: During the break what I was most thankful for was family. Im thankful for my family because it felt good everyone being together and enjoy each others time. As well as enjoying the things at the moment and time we have together as a family. 

hanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal. November 21

 Prompt Response: My most unforgettable mean was the time I went to the Sun Dial restaurant in Atlanta. It was unforgettable because I hadn´t gone there before and the view was unforgettable to. The food was good aswell which makes it one of the best foods i´ve had. 

How did that new discovery change the way you saw them? November 19/20

 Prompt Response: Something shocking that I relized about a person I used to see is in my old school I had a teacher that I thought was young but found out she was much older. I didn´t expect them to be the age they where. Finding this out  didn´t change the way I looked at them it only shocked me.

 Prompt Response: Someone in my life who influences me in a positive way is my sibilings. They influence me positively by making sure im good and giving me advice on situations. There go for anything attitude is what makes me admire them because it pushes me to do more. 

What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter November 17

 Prompt Response: The mood I was aiming for was suspension. This is the mood I picked because to me the whole book has been about suspension and shock. My editing choices helped me communicate the message by givng the slide a shock feeling. 

A time when you and a sibling or family member shared an unexpected moment of joy after things had been tense or confusing November 14

 Prompt Response:  A time when unexpected joy happened with my family was when my mom thought the rent payment didn´t go through but at the last second it went through. When she relized it hadn´t gone through she panicked because she panicked because it was the last day to pay. She tried over and over but the last second it went through and she smiled cause it went through. 

Think about a time when someone gave you advice that sounded right at first but ended up being wrong. November 12/13

 Prompt Response: A time someone gave me advice that sounded right but ended up being wrong is when I listen to one of my cousins advice of how to workout properly but then I later found out he was doing the workouts wrong as well. It did not affect our relationship as cousins because it was just a misunderstanding. From this I learned that I should always check what i do first 

Reflect on a time when someone’s desire for control hurt a friendship or relationship. What advice would you give to Harpo or Sofia if you could November 11

 Prompt Response: A time I saw someones desire for control hurt a relationship was when I was small I would always see my cousins mom argue with her husband. Her husbands desire to control her life ruined there relationship for them and there kids. If I could give advice to Harpo or Sofia I would tell them to talk things out or sepertate if things cant seem to work. 

hink about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from November 10

 Prompt Response: Someone in my life that inspires me to be more stronger and confident is Jesus. I say this because his teachings have wisdom and advice that can be taken in anyway but if you take it the right way it helps you out a lot. I admire him because he didn´t just pick and chose who to help but he helped everyone around him in the little time he had on earth and left evidence and books so we could learn from him. 

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles. November 5/6

 Prompt Response: After reading the first five letter of the color purple I feel shock after seeing through all the struggles Celie´s faced of her early voice and struggles. A reason I say shock is because of how she had to babies taken away from her which really shocked me. It led me to wonder how much pain she felt knowing that she had her babies taken away from her.

Tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it? October 29/30

 Prompt Response: My favorite word right now is after. This has been my favorite word recently not because I like the word but it has came up recently when I talk so I use it a lot. The word after I would say I use it 20 times a day or a little less but it comes up often. This is why after has been my favorite word recently. 

What is something that society once accepted but now sees as wrong, or something we still accept today that might be viewed as wrong in the future? October 28

 Prompt Response: Something that once was not accepted by society but now is accepted is TikTok. I say this because when the app first started to show up during Covid time many people I knew called the app weird or would refuse to get it. As time started passing TikTok is now used by everyone and now accepted now if you don´t have TikTok people look at you weird. 

eflect on a time when you noticed someone being treated unfairly or saw a situation that didn’t seem right. How does this experience connect to the emotions or ideas expressed in one or both poems October 27

 Prompt Response: A time I saw someone being treated unfairly was at a gas station there was two homeless people asking for money one was white and the other was hispanic cars drove pass the hispanic but i noticed that when the white person was asking people would stop and help him out that didn´t seem right. This experience showed me that even when people are suffering those who can help pick and chose who they help based on what intrest them. 

Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing October 24

 Prompt Response: A time I couldn´t stop laughing was when I went on a trip to florida with my friends. The whole way to florida we passed by a person doing a youtube video in public and we walked past by him not knowing we where in his video. A few months later his video showed up on my recommended and I saw us in the video. 

Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”? October 22/23

 Prompt Response: A time someone I admired challenged me was when I would use to play soccer my coach has challenged me to a free kick competition. This wasn´t because he competed agaisnt me it was a friendly challenge. At the end I ended up winning and we both laughed it off.  

Describe your birth experience. What have your parents told you about the circumstances of your birth October 21

 Prompt Response: About my birth experience I don´t know much. My mom had told me that I was born at night somewhere around eleven or twelve in Grady hospital. My mom told me that it was unexpected the day I was born but that everything went good as well as my name being picked the same time I was born. 

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day October 10.

 Prompt Response:  When I have a lot going on in my day i find joy through music. When I have a long day I always listen to music because its a stress reliever for me which makes my day better. Another thing I do is grab food, and also watching a movie after everything ive done through the day 

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you. October 9

 Prompt Response: A time when someones words had a lasting impact on me is when my mom told me everything you do comes back to you eventually. This phrase she said had a impact on me because it made me think about what she really said. And seeing from other peoples experiences I was able to see what she meant through someone else´s point of view. Thats why her words has a impact on me. 

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone. October 7

 Prompt Response: A moment I had to step out my comfort zone was when I got my first job at subway. This was out of my comfort zone because I had never worked in a fast food place I have only worked in construction and never in a fast food place. At first it was weird because I had never done most of the things they asked of me and standing for most of the day. At first it was more of a thing of getting used to then it being hard but as I kept doing it I got better at it. 

Write About a Dream That Felt Real October 6

 Prompt Response: A dream I had recently that felt real was a dream where I was trapped inside a car. In my dream I randomly woke up inside a car with all four doors locked with no way of opening them so I could get out. The time was somewhere around 12pm or 11am everything around me was dark and I couldn´t tell where I was at the moment it just looked like any other place. Then I woke up and relized it was a dream.
